Neste sábado (23), movimentos populares em todo o Brasil estão se mobilizando em defesa da democracia. As manifestações, organizadas pelas Frentes Brasil Popular e Povo Sem Medo e com apoio de centrais sindicais e partidos progressistas, têm como objetivo principal protestar contra a anistia para os envolvidos no golpe de 8 de janeiro de 2023 e reafirmar o lema “Ditadura nunca mais”. Além disso, será expressado repúdio ao genocídio do povo palestino na Faixa de Gaza promovido por Israel.
Ao contrário de eventos anteriores concentrados em São Paulo ou Rio de Janeiro, o principal ato está programado para ocorrer na capital da Bahia, Salvador, simbolizando uma descentralização das mobilizações. Rud Rafael, da coordenação nacional da Frente Povo Sem Medo, explicou a escolha de Salvador pela sua importância no Nordeste e destacou que mais de 20 atos estão planejados em várias partes do país.
Rud Rafael criticou a postura do ex-presidente Bolsonaro, argumentando que é inaceitável que ele se apresente como vítima, considerando seu histórico de incitação à divisão na sociedade brasileira. Ele destacou que os eventos deste sábado são uma resposta à mobilização pró-Bolsonaro ocorrida em São Paulo em fevereiro.
Em São Paulo, a concentração para o ato pela democracia está marcada para as 15 horas no Largo São Francisco. Além disso, estão programadas pelo menos 21 manifestações em todo o Brasil, incluindo uma em Lisboa, Portugal.
Rud Rafael ressaltou que essas manifestações fazem parte de um conjunto de mobilizações iniciadas em março, que incluíram atos significativos no Dia Internacional da Mulher e em memória de Marielle Franco e Anderson Gomes.
